Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to look into how broccoli (Brassica oleracea L. var. italica).) elemental composition is affected by transplant age. cultivars and evaluate whether the quantitative WDXRF (Wavelength-Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence) method is appropriate for mineral analysis in broccoli samples. Three broccoli cultivars were used in the field experiment: "Jade F1," "Monaco F1," and "Monopoly F1". All of the elements found were present at significant levels, according to the results. Cultivar had the greatest impact on nutrient element contents among the factors that were assessed followed by year and transplant age. The cv. "Monopoly F1" generally showed a greater ability to accumulate multiple elements. P, S, and Cl contents were greatly impacted by the year factor, indicating that environmental factors are important for nutrient absorption. Higher concentrations of P, S, and Cl were also linked to an increase in transplant age. The results of the PCA show that the nutrient composition of broccoli varies depending on the interaction between genotype, transplant age and experiment year, and that some nutrients are more closely related to specific combinations of genotype and transplant age. Additionally, the findings demonstrated that WDXRF offers a quick and accurate method for figuring out the elemental makeup of broccoli samples. Overall, the findings imply that a combination of developmental, environmental, and genetic factors influence the mineral composition of broccoli.
